Bhai Kuljit Singh Ji - Head Granthi

Bhai Ji was born and brought up in Batala, Punjab in 1957 and received his religious training and studies form his father and grandfather. His grandfather was a Raagi and a crafts man who made musical instruments.

His training began at a very young age in Sikh religion and theology, Sikh musicology, and the Sikh scriptures. In addition to singing, he received training in different traditional musical instruments. He can now play the Sarangi, the Saranda, the Rabab (all stringed insturments), the Harmonium and the Tabla.

Bhai Sahib was hired as Raagi at the Sat Kartaria Gurdwara in Batala, Punjab in 1976 (where Guru Hargobind Ji’s son Baba Gurdita was married). In 1984 he took over as the resident Raagi at Gurdwara Dera Sahib, also in Batala, India. This is a historic Gurdwara associated with the life of Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh religion. While based there he rotated also through other important Sikh Gurdwaras, including the Golden Temple, Amritsar.

In addition he ran a school for students on Sikh scriptures, theology and music from 1990 until 2003. He taught classical Indian music at the St. Francis School in Batala, Punjab for two years from 2001 to 2003. In 2003 he accepted a position as resident Granthi/Raagi at the Sikh Association of Central Virginia.

Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji

Bhai Harjinder Singh Ji “Khanne Wale”, joined the Richmond Sikh Association Of Central VA on February 14, 2025.

Family:
Bhai Harjinder Singh ji was born on April 18th 1982 in Punjab Khanna, to parents S. Bir Singh ji and mother Gurmeet Kaur ji. He has a brother and sister back home. Bhaiji is married to Parvinder Kaur and has a son named Baljot Singh.

Music Training:
He got his Music training from Patiala and Chandigarh Pracheen Kala Kendra. He Plays multiple musical instruments including Dilruba, Tous, Harmonium and Tabla.

Bhai Harjinder Singh ji’s journey:

2005 – 2008 Keertan Sewa at Gurudwara Sukh Saagar Sahib, Khanna.
2010 – 2012 – Keertan Sewa at Gurudwara Baba Budha Sahib ji, at Raipur Chatigarh. He travelled all over India to different cities to recite Keertan.
Oct 2013 – April 2014 – First Canada tour.
Mar 2015 – Aug 2015 2nd Canada tour.
Aug 2016 – Dec 2016 – 3rd Canada tour.
Aug 2016 – Dec 2016 – 4th Canada tour before he joined SACVI in Feb 2025. 
2021 – 2024 – He was a professor of music at Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Missionary College at Ropar.

Bhai Harmanpreet Singh Ji

Bhai Harmanpreet Singh Ji “Khanne Wale”, joined the Richmond Sikh Association Of Central VA on February 14, 2025.

Family:
Bhai Harmanpreet Singh ji was born on December 31, 1996 in Punjab, village Balrampur, Tehsil Chamkor Sahib, Ropar, to father S. Bhag Singh ji and mother Kulwinder Kaur ji. He has a sister and brother back home. His wife, Sandeep Kaur and him has a young daughter Akalroop Kaur.

Education and Training:
Bhai Harmanpreet Singh Ji got his degree in B.A. (Gurmat Sangeet), and Gurmat Diploma from Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Gurmat Missionary College in 2014-2017. 
He Plays: Rabab and Harmonium.

2017 – 2018 – Keertan Sewa at Gurdwara Beerd Guru Siri Jand Shaib as a granthi.
2018 – 2019 – Keertan Sewa at Gurdwara Singh Sabha Sahib (Himachal Pradesh).
2019 – 2020 Keertan Sewa at Gurdwara Siri Katalgarh Sahib, Siri Chamkor Sahib as a granthi.
2020 – 2025 – Keeratan Sewa at Gurdwara Siri Jand Sahib as a Raagi Singh before joining SACVI in Feb. 2025.

Bhai Dasmesh Singh Ji

Bhai Dasmesh Singh Ji “Khanne Wale”, joined the Richmond Sikh Association Of Central VA on February 14, 2025.

Family:
Bhai Dasmesh Singh ji was born on November 3, 1986 in Punjab, Chamkor Sahib to L. father Kaka Singh ji and mother Pritam Kaur ji. He and his wife Inderjit Kaur has two sons, 9yr old Parampreet Singh and 6yr old Sharanpreet Singh.

Education and Music Training:
2005 – 2008 – He got his Gurmat education from Bhai Gurdaas Gurmat Missionary College,  Ludhiana.
He got his Tabla and Harmonium education from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.
He Plays Tabla and Harmonium.

Bhai Dasmesh Singh’s Journey:
2008 – 2014 – Tabla Sewa at Shahvad Markanda (Hariyana).
2014 – 2025 – Keertan Sewa at Gurdwara Beerd Guru Jand Sahib, before joining SACVI in Feb 2025.r
